The ultimate goal of the program is to develop a Store Manager Trainee (SMT) who is ready to become a Sears FLS
Store Manager at the conclusion of a 6‐8 week training/overview program. The program consists of, but is not limited
to, facilitated training, job shadowing, on‐the‐job, self‐study and online training.
At the conclusion of his/her training, the SMT must demonstrate a solid understanding of Sears Retail operations. The
focus of the training will be in several areas including Operations, Human Resources, Hardlines and Softlines
merchandising, Auto Center operations, Loss Prevention and other areas as defined during the scope of the job
including special projects/event assignments.
