Strategic Sourcing Manager - Contract Manufacturing – Northborough, MA
The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing will serve as the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager for OEM Laboratory and OEM Medical including full responsibility for Category Management of Vendor Contract Manufacturing.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing is responsible to manage all Strategic Sourcing tasks related to Pall’s Laboratory and OEM Medical related products, and services, requirements, including, but not limited to significant interaction with R & D, Engineering, and Operational functions to provide Global Sourcing, Outsourcing and overall Sub Contract Management in alignment with corporate strategy.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing will be responsible to create and implement strategies while supporting overall strategy of Pall’s global Strategic Sourcing organization, and its related objectives in alignment cross-functionally. Responsibilities include performance to various KPI’s of Strategic Sourcing, including Net Deflation, Purchase Price Variance, Cost Reduction, Margin Enhancement, DPO/supplier Payables, Working Capital, Global Value Sourcing/LCC Sourcing, e-Auctions, and Supplier Performance.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing will manage key supplier relationships, negotiate critical supply contracts, including assembling and analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives and crafting negotiating strategies. The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Contract Manufacturing will champion continuous development of suppliers to meet Pall “Preferred/Qualified Suppliers” (Forward Procurement List) and 3P, Q & L requirements, participate in design reviews with R & D and suppliers on manufacturability and raw material selection in order to achieve most optimal component/service cost. Responsible to support, monitor, evaluate, and mentor the local Strategic Sourcing team members while ensuring policies and procedures regarding compliance, commitments, early involvement, supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and supplier development related to the category are understood and implemented.
Evaluate existing vendor base, to establish current state, and once established define future state/”best in class” supply chain/vendor design requirements.
Interface with decentralized procurement teams to establish “local” manufacturing site inputs/requirements are aligned with center led strategy.
To produce a vendor rationalization program, with execution timeline.
Define opportunities within Emerging Markets for new sources of supply (China, India, Central/Eastern Europe, Latin America, as applicable).
Categorize the required vendor spend, to be managed via multiyear Pall contracts, to manager risk, liability and to maximize 3P, Q&L outputs.
Design and lead contract negotiations.
Detailed understanding of macro-economic factors affecting, driving and influencing category management.
Maximize 3P, Q&L outputs (Price, Package Size, Payment Terms, Quality, Lead Time) for year over year working capital improvements.
Design and lead vendor transitions (Outsourcing, Insourcing, Vendor to Vendor).
Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, principles and tools.
Ensure logistics model for “Total landed” cost of supply is maximized.
Prioritize highest level of quality and continuity of supply for category.
An understanding of Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
Support R & D and Engineering on all New Product Development (NPI) and introduction programs.
Support cross functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize components through the VEVA process.
Dynamic understanding of market place technologies, for adoption, and incorporation into Pall’s value proposition.
Critical to ensure strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Metallurgy or applicable discipline. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 3 – 7 years experience in procurement/commodity management including global sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company and leading global Value Sourcing (China preferred) projects “Cradle to Grave”.
Minimum of 3 years management experience.
Demonstrated experience in effective communications (written/verbal/presentations), leadership, cross functional working with geographically dispersed teams, managing change, leveraging technology to meet business needs, design and implementation of effective processes.
Proven negotiations experience with suppliers and contract manufacturers with demonstrated performance results.
Experience formulating and understanding business requirements for commercial trade contracts.
Proven leadership experience to deliver results, build effective cross functional multi geographical teams, partnering with all levels of the organization.
Experience with the usage of electronic sourcing tools for RFI, RFQ, and Reverse Auction.
Global Business travel requirement up to 50%.
