You’ll use your expertise and our tools to help develop, enhance, manage, and apply the risk modeling solutions to a variety of client applications and may also be involved with direct interaction with clients regarding the analysis of their portfolios and properties.

Responsibilities

Collect and analyze data on buildings characteristics for buildings around the world to use in assessing the potential vulnerability of the building stock to natural catastrophes
Use information obtained from engineering reports and building codes to develop classifications of the building stock by structural type, occupancy and height
Derive regional cost estimates for buildings of varying types throughout the world
Employ the use of GIS tools to locate buildings and determine the proximity to natural hazards
Develop custom tools and/or applications for use in building classification
Prepare and present work product at staff and client meetings
Limited international travel may be required for the purpose of conducting building audits
Experience, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to gather, understand, and critically analyze data on building construction types
Programming experience in one of the following languages SQL, C#, Python or Fortran
Demonstrated self-directed ability to learn new concepts and skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of statistics
Experience in GIS a plus
Foreign Language skills a plus

Qualifications

BS or BEng degree in a quantitative field such as construction management, construction science or engineering. MS preferred
