$11.49 - $12.24 per hour (based on education, qualifications skills and abilities)
You must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate (or certified GED equivalent) at graduation June 2013. This is a student position; you must be currently enrolled (or plan to enroll) in college courses with a minimum of 10 credits in the next academic quarter/semester.

The student in this position works full-time during the summer (Monday - Friday; typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) and up to 20 hours per week during the regular academic school year .
Assist the IT Operations Group with deployment, retirement, and management tracking of PC equipment inventory. This includes imaging activities, data wiping activities, as well as the recordkeeping and physical transport of equipment to various locations including surplus storage areas. The job will also periodically assist taking IT Help Desk calls and routing to appropriate persons for service. The above activities will be carried out under the direction of the Network Support Supervisor or his/her designee.

1. (EF) 60% Under supervision - setup, deploy, and retire PCs and related network peripheral equipment. Assist with the tracking and management of PCs and related asset inventories. This includes imaging and preparing new PCs; data wiping activities, recordkeeping and physical transport of equipment to various locations including surplus storage areas.
2. (EF) 30% Assist on the IT Help Desk by receiving phone calls and monitoring the Help Desk email inbox; as well as handling cases as assigned via the PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Respond to help requests by logging them into the CRM application and routing the request to the appropriate IT staff for assistance.
3. (EF) 10% Assist with the setup, monitoring and assistance at the periodic surplus PC auction as needed.
4. (EF) Ongoing - Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
5. (SF) Ongoing - May be required to drive a motorized vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the District.

Experience: Typically requires two (2) years of experience in computer and/or hardware setup and configuration (through academic experience or paid work experience).

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of District Safety procedures and WACs and RCWs applicable to this position.
Language Skills: Candidate must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
