Tri-County Upward Bound is designed to increase the academic and social skills of rural, disadvantaged high school students from nearby counties who are potential first-generation college students. This is a part-time 20-hour per week student position beginning June 2 and ending July 11, 2014.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Typical tasks include but are not limited to:
-Teach three one-hour classes on campus Monday through Thursday for six-week summer program.
-Attend a weekly staff meeting to discuss problems, successes, and upcoming events.
-Develop a basic curriculum and syllabus for each class.
-Develop appropriate pre-and post-test for each class.
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
-Availability to work 20 hours per week from June 2 through July 11, 2014.
-Availability to work Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
-Ability to teach designated subject matter.
-Ability to effectively utilize computer technology.
-Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Ability to maintain excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
-Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public.
-Ability to coordinate and direct the activity of others.
-Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making.
-Ability to formulate and execute complex tasks.
-Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
-Must be an APSU student enrolled at least 1/2 time.
-Must have earned at least 30 credit hours.
-Minimum 2.8 GPA .
-Direct deposit of pay is required.
-A background check may be required of the successful applicant.
