Purpose Provide current undergraduate students in the College of Business and prospective students new to UT Arlington with programs and information to supplement and enhance the academic experience, student retention, and graduation.

Essential Functions Meet individually with students in the College of Business to provide guidance on academic issues such as meeting degree requirements, proper course selection, and assisting students in formulating successful academic strategies. Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of existing student programs, activities, and projects and review outcomes with director. Recommend and organize new programs designed to enhance student development and success. Coordinate work assignments of office staff as needed. Maintain a clear understanding of all applicable University and College of Business policies and procedures in order to implement, solve, and prevent when possible student problems or issues. Monitor the academic progress of students and provide them with assistance in setting and achieving educational and career goals. Provide students with information about additional programs and support services such as counseling and tutoring with the College and University Participate in meetings, professional conferences, and individual professional development Perform related advising duties as required, including, but not limited to, Preview Days, Orientations, Graduation, and recruiting efforts.

Marginal/Incidental functions Other functions as assigned.

Required qualifications Master's degree in business or related field. 3 years of experience in an advisory, administrative, or educational capacity with college students or adolescents in community youth groups. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's and Master's degree in business. Proficiency with personal computers and MS Office software. 3 years of higher education academic advising experience. Excellent communication skills.
