Assist in administering the Kansas Work Study Program. The purpose of the Kansas Work Study Program is to help Kansas employers hire university students to work in career-related positions. Students benefit by gaining work experience that enhances their academic program. Employers benefit by being reimbursed for one half of the student’s gross wages.
Contact employers; maintain computer files; process invoices and other contract forms; update financial records and reports; monitor employer and student use of funds; process student applications for eligibility in the program
Assist with student employment services and other Career Center projects. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Current KU student, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the academic year.
Maintain a 2.0 GPA or better.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Available year round, including break periods.
Prior experience working without a great amount of supervision.
Comfortable working with numbers and budget.
Need to be available for training during the weeks of January 7-11 and January 14-18, 2013
Good problem solving skills.
Must have the ability to take the initive to get work done and have good follow through on projects.
Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
Error-free typing and mathematical ability.
Accounting background helpful.
Prefer someone who can work several hours each day, Monday through Friday
Very detail-oriented and organized.
Advertised Hourly Rate : $7.50
Work Schedule: 15 hours per week, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday; on-going, year round position.

Conditions of Employment
Students holding student hourly appointments must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during the academic year. Enrollment of one credit hour during the summer session is required if the student was not enrolled the previous spring or is not pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall term.
