Full-time college students who meet the qualifications and are seeking a Spring or Fall 2013 Human Resources part time practicum position with Caterpillar Inc.
Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree or a graduate degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the practicum. If transferring from a two-year institution, student must have completed 12 semester hours at the four-year university prior to the start of the practicum.
This is a 20-32 hour per week position lasting 16 weeks.
HR part time student workers at Caterpillar perform the same entry-level tasks as our new full-time hires. This may include, but is not limited to, entry-level tasks in recruiting, talent management, communications, learning, compensation and benefits, succession management and related human resources disciplines. We work with our student workers and their managers before, during and after the practicum to ensure that every student worker gains the appropriate professional and personal growth necessary to be successful in the corporate environment. Our student workers are placed in a variety of Caterpillar Business Units and locations.
2.8/4.0 Cumulative GPA
Outstanding leadership skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; Human Resources and/or Business related degree with emphasis in HR coursework. Must be a team player with initiative, good interpersonal skills, judgment, customer focus and be able to maintain confidentiality.
