JOB TITLE: Student Support Counseling Support Specialist

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Counseling Services

Job Goal:
The Student Support Counseling Support Specialist will assist in creating and supporting systems and structures that promote effective Student Support Counseling service delivery to students, staff and parents. This role will also serve as a resource for SSCs, staff, administrators, parents and students.

ILLUSTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Student Support Counseling Support Specialist will work closely with the Director of Student Support Counseling Services in the following areas-

Developing and maintaining systems for at-risk identification and reporting

Planning and facilitating professional learning sessions for SSCs and other campus stakeholders

Screening SSC applicants and participating in campus interview processes

Developing and maintaining internship partnerships, and assisting with the placement and training of interns

Planning and facilitating summer onboarding training for SSC new hires

Providing direct campus support to targeted campuses through SSC check-ins and consultation

Providing direct support to students on targeted campuses

Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution

Master’s Degree preferred

Experience

Previous experience as a Student Support Counselor, preferred, but not required

COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION :
Length of Work Year:
Year- round part-time position; 0.5 FTE with opportunity to be full time FTE with campus SSC role. Evening and weekend commitments also will be required
