Student Intern Program: This position is being filled under the new Pathways - Internship Program which provide opportunities for high school, vocational and technical, undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to be exposed to the work of the Federal government.
Student Definition: Students must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc,) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which you are enrolled) throughout the duration of the appointment, including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program under Public Law 93-842.
Position Duration/Expectation: Positions will be temporary not-to-exceed 1 year. May be extended in up to 1 year increments based on continued need/funds for the position and the student's continued compliance in the Intern Program. Completion of this internship will not lead to permanent or term employment with NARA.

As a Student Trainee (Sales Store Clerk) you will be responsible for:
- Performing cashier duties associated with the operation of a museum store, assisting customers, maintaining inventory and other clerical duties.
- Receiving payment for admission to the Museum, completing ticket sales for groups and individuals. Providing information regarding the museum to guests.
- Unpacking merchandise and performs receiving functions which include merchandise review and verification.
- Creating and maintains merchandise displays.
- Providing inventory assistance such as restocking shelves and maintaining organization of current inventory items. Assists with yearly physical merchandise inventory.
- Packaging and shipping merchandize utilizing an automated postal system.
- Answering visitors' basic questions about the Museum, the Ford family, and the local area.
- Answering incoming telephone calls; e-mails, transfers calls, or records messages as required to ensure appropriate communication.

For GS-2: Three months of general experience in progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled or completion of high school graduation or equivalent.
