The Skidmore College Opportunity Programs (OP) seek professional math tutors for its Summer Academic Institute (SAI). This model summer program is a vital part of OP students' transition to college and prepares students for the curriculum at Skidmore College. The SAI focuses on developing skills in writing, quantitative reasoning and critical thinking that will serve students through their college years. The math tutor will offer academic support in one of two math courses offered during the summer. The tutor is a non-residential employee, supervised by the OP professional staff and by the faculty to whom s/he is assigned. The tutor is expected to work approximately 30 hours each week, attending all classes in his/her subject, and working with students Sunday evenings through Thursday evenings.
