Internship with the Undersea Technology Assessment Group.

Responsibilities:

Pursuing a degree in Engineering and prior work, internship experience, and/or exposure in an academic environment in technology development and technology management. A passion for applying qualitative analytical methods to solve national security problems and excellent written and oral communications skills is required. Must possess the ability and willingness to multi-task, and be capable of applying innovative analysis to solve client problems. Must be a self-starter with the capacity to work independently and to participate in multifunctional teams. Must possess the ability to explain technology in everyday language and to translate technology assessments into useable output products. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with undersea systems, program management, risk assessment and/or cost analysis. Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates will be subject to a security investigation.

Requirements:

Assist with the planning and management of undersea technology development. Conduct assessments of technology utility and maturity. Participate as an SPA team member supporting the VIRGINIA Class and OHIO Replacement nuclear submarine technology development programs. Participate in interactions with technology providers and evaluators in the Office of Naval Research and the Naval Sea Systems Command.
