The actuarial financial modeling department of Transamerica Employer Solutions & Pensions is seeking a qualified candidate for an Actuarial Intern position. The primary role of this position will be to provide support Experience Studies, while also supporting other projects.
Financial Reporting – IFRS and Statutory financial reporting projects.
Calculate and analyze DAC/VOBA amortization and loss recognition.
Analyze actual to allowable expenses.
Enhance, streamline, and document financial reporting processes.
Communicate results to senior management and corporate reporting.
Management Reporting – Measure key profitability drivers and pricing parameters.
This will involve maintaining and enhancing Access database programs and communicating results.
Financial Projections – Modeling projects including Solvency II Economic Capital, Embedded Value, Cash Flow Testing and Budget.
This will involve using models in MoSes, summarizing and analyzing results in Excel and communicating results to senior management and corporate reporting.
Risk Management – Creating and/or updating risk exposure reports and analytics in support of asset-liability portfolio management, senior management, and corporate reporting.

We are looking for a person with these required skills and education
Have completed at least 1 actuarial exam.
Currently enrolled at college or recent graduate as Mathematics/Statistics/Economics major.
Strong communication, analytical, problem solving and organization skills.
Strong proficiency in Excel is required.
Preferred skills include
Experience with VBA, C++ or other programming language preferred.
Experience with Access and SQL is preferred.
Experience with MoSes or other actuarial modeling platforms preferred.
