Internship with The Strategic Systems Analysis Group.

Responsibilities:

Intern will conduct policy and program analysis on various National Security topics in support of Navy Strategic Systems Programs and the OHIO Replacement Program. The intern will participate in team activities and policy discussions related to strategic nuclear deterrence theory as well as current and future deterrence options. The intern will be responsible for gathering information, conducting analysis, and preparing reports on the analysis conducted.

Develop quick-turn briefs and issue papers in support of the OHIO Replacement Program. Conduct planning and assessment activities for all stages of weapon system life cycle support. Includes material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, testing, training, logistics planning and production deployment. Support includes documentation development, requirements and resource planning, strategic planning, and other aspects of program execution.

Requirements:

Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (or higher level) program at an accredited college/university and have completed at least your sophomore year. Either a defense policy or engineering background and an interest in solving difficult national security issues is required. Experience in or pursuing education related to National Security, Strategy Development, Systems Engineering Processes, and/or Technology Development and Management is also required. Education or experience relating to nuclear weapons, deterrence theory, or nuclear delivery systems is a plus. Must have the ability to work well within a team and with little supervision and have a 3.0/4.0 overall GPA.
