CAS Preventive Services works to strengthen families. The families that we serve struggle with a variety of the following stressors, such as socio-economic, environmental, and/or emotional issues. These issues will subsequently impact on their health and safety. From poor housing and nutrition to feelings of hopelessness and despair, these stressors put family members at increased risk of abuse, neglect or maltreatment. Other issues that might undermine families remaining intact could be substance abuse, school truancy, and domestic violence. Our program’s mission is to decrease the risk factors that impact families, not to wait until the child’s safety is jeopardized. Our primary task is to do whatever we can to keep families together.
