NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving
applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
SUPERVISOR OF ADULT AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree, a permanent teaching
certificate and a New York State administrator certificate. Candidates must have proven GED work
experience coordinating and leading GED programs, a thorough understanding of the GED curriculum
and NRS goals, must have experience in adult management of GED curriculum development, a proven
record for managing GED teachers, and the ability to identify needs of out of school learners. Able to
read and understand SED ASISTS database reports and make programmatic recommendations to the
Director based on data. Experience with NYSED data base ASISTS is an important expectation for this
position. Must be able to relate NYSED Common Core Standards and to GED literacy curriculum.
Additional experience in planning, designing, implementing, and/or evaluating Adult Education programs
will be considered in evaluating each candidate's qualifications. Must be familiar with SED NRS
guidelines. Candidates should have reliable car, and be familiar with PC and Microsoft office Suite.
DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Adult and Continuing Education, the
Supervisor of Adult and Continuing Education will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Oversee and develop GED curriculum and budgets.
Implement and monitor Adult Education programs in various sites with a focus on
meeting national Adult Education reporting standards.
Review ASISTS data reports and make recommendations to the Director.
Follow the direction of the Director and implement activities related to the Adult Education
mission and vision and other duties needed.
Monitor and evaluate staff.
Perform related duties as required.
APPOINTMENT: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation
of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.
Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Administrator's salary schedule.
