Supports, coordinates and provides direct support of general Health Services related process improvement initiatives and activities; Directs and maintains primary accountability of operational activities and performance of the Intake Operations unit including but not limited to: Oversight of daily operations; deployment of resources to meet the needs of MVP customers as they pertain to Utilization Management processes, functions and related regulatory compliance guidelines; alignment of intake customer demand with other, downstream supporting clinical Health Services units (i.e. Inpatient, Prospective, Retrospective, Operations); continuous assessment of unit operational performance using objective, meaningful information; leveraging process improvement tools and techniques to identify opportunities for increased business unit production, quality and service levels; provision of improvement recommendations to the Manager of Health Services Operations and other Health Services management personnel and directing implementation of approved activities and initiatives. Provides business representation, subject matter expertise and related decision making on department and corporate projects / initiatives, and directs implementation of related activities as they pertain to the business unit. Provides direction to and oversight and mentoring of staff. Supports other duties as assigned by the Manager of Health Services Operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, Health Care Administration or related field. Masters degree preferred. Lean Six Sigma certification, Green Belt Level minimum required; Black Belt highly preferred. Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of direct operations, service and/or project/program management experience with a production-based emphasis. Experience working directly within a process improvement focused business unit required. Demonstrated application of process improvement tools and methodologies beyond the scope of certification, required. Experience with maxMC (or comparable) medical management system, especially in a system/technical perspective highly preferred. Experience working within an HMO insurance environment with a medical/utilization/case management focus (or other transactional-based function(s)) highly preferred. Required Skills: Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint Proven track record for leading a team to achieve results. Excellent analytical, communication and organizational ability. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to organize, analyze and present data effectively. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines. Must be well organized with exceptional time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly effective interpersonal and conflict management skills. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information. Preferred Skills: Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Project, Visio. Solid understanding of project management methodology (preferably as recommended by the Project Management Institute or PMI)
