Key Responsibilities

This position is designed to coordinate the logistics process of freight movement both on a regional and local level. The supervisor will have the accountability for shipping, receiving and storage functions of the warehouse and assure timely and accurate processing of all inbound cargo as well as planning staffing requirements based on weekly production schedules.

• Verifies accuracy of inbound and outbound cargo
• Documents OS & D (Over, Short, Damaged) cartons
• Collaborates with customer service departments to resolve existing issues
• Trains, develops, and assesses the performance of direct reports
• Determines work procedures, prepares works schedules, and expedites workflow
• Researches errors and recommends/implements corrective action Customer claim processing, reporting, and procedure compliance facilitation
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions to improve processes which result in faster service, increased efficiencies and/or cost savings
• Partner with Facility Manager to determine best process for resolving claim. This may include implementing new procedures that will serve as “check and balance” to eliminate further claims.
• Support Damco Distribution's commitment to quality, which includes customer specific Quality program(s), training requirements and work instructions
• Support to Facility Manager and Operations Manager
• Special projects as assigned
• Performs job related duties as specified by management

Who we are looking for

• College degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years related warehouse/terminal experience preferred
• Organizational skills, meticulous flow-through skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends is required
• Must be assertive self-starter
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
