The Huntington, West Virginia Manufacturing campus employs more than 750 people who support the manufacture of Intraocular Lens (IOLs) and IOL delivery systems, operating a 3-shift operation. Alcon is ranked first in world-wide sale and distribution of IOLs, and the majority of lenses sold throughout the world are made at the Huntington facility. Overall Job Summary: Within the Medical Device Industry, plans, organizes and supervises the daily activities and schedules of employees who are engaged in the production of sterile intraocular lenses or delivery systems, ensuring compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices and established Standard Operating Procedures. Operates in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet production commitments within Alcon’s cost, quality, and safety standards. Provides leadership to employees, ensuring compliance to standards to include time and attendance, performance objectives, conduct, training, development, and performance. Applies technical expertise to resolving problems associated with product development and integrity. Manages multiple priorities, and effectively holds others accountable for results. Manages conflict and deals effectively with others in a diverse workforce.

NOTE: The shift for this position will be supporting production employees working 3rd shift (10:45pm-6:45am). Some weekend hours may be required to meet production need.

Minimum requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, Chemistry (or similar science), or Engineering. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing operation performing functions as described. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience in supervising an automated manufacturing process (Class 10000 cleanroom) including knowledge and application of optical test equipment, knowledge and application of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics. Experience in defining end-user requirements for new automation systems in regards to a manufacturing viewpoint. Experience with polypropylene molding a plus. Prior medical device experience a plus.
