POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This position will facilitate the successful functioning of the specific inpatient unit(s) through communication, working knowledge of departmental and hospital policy, and rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Two years of clinical nursing experience required. Clinical experience in area of specialty preferred. Two years experience in nursing leadership (charge nurse, supervisor, etc) or leadership position outside of nursing required.
* Advanced problem solving shills and/or techniques.
* Knowledge of principles of management and the change process.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to develop effective working relationships within and outside departments supervised.
* Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques.
Licensure as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota. Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Certification in related clinical specialty strongly preferred.
Education: BSN is required, Master's degree or in process is strongly preferred.
This position will partner with the 0.7 Nurse manager to provide leadership coverage for the burn program which includes oversight of the inpatient burn center, the outpatient burn/wound clinic and burn rehab. Strong interest is developing and advancing leadership skills/ role is needed. Acute care and critical care required, Burn experience helpful, clinic experience helpful.
