Exclusive Search Automotive Tier 1 Supplier Manual Transmissions Location Clemson, (Seneca) South Carolina QUALIFICATIONS: · Requires a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. · Requires at least three years of Manufacturing Engineering /Quality Assurance experience in a metalworking environment. · Must have demonstrated knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine (metalworking) and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). · Knowledge of TS16949 required. · At least 1 year of experience with Supplier Development required. · Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required. · Experience in Minitab for statistical analysis required. · ASQ Certification a plus. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: · Supports process improvement and problem-solving efforts with focus on protecting and improving product quality. · Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area through participation as integral part of Quality / Purchasing team. · Drives and champions quality improvement efforts. · Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis. · Is responsible for New Product Qualification, and verification of changes to current product. · Through the application of APQP, supports the internal and external customers in New Product Introduction. · Ensures that internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner. ·Results for this position will be measured by improvements to Supplier PPM rates. · Optimizes process capability on significant characteristics through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and training of Suppliers in Problem-Solving. · Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making. · Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action. · Establishes himself or herself as an expert on quality control and quality improvement. · Takes responsibility for driving quality results. · Builds credibility with our internal as well as external customers. · Provides advice and solutions based on sound problem analysis and team based solutions to others. · Utilizes effective project management and problem-solving tools such as cause / effect analysis, flow charting, mapping and time lines to come to logical solutions. ·Actively pursues learning other aspects of the business. ·Supports the role quality plays in the overall success of the business. · Maintains focus on what is important and drives for results. · Prepares a business plan, with objectives and target dates. · Accomplishes such within said timeframe. · Quickly senses what helps or hinders the accomplishment of a goal. · Actively informs others of adverse quality trends that may impact the long-term success of the business. · Provides on a day-to-day basis the information and/or training necessary for customers to perform in their jobs. · Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. · Functions as an effective team player. · Demonstrates effective problem solving techniques. · Uses rigorous and proven methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. · Responsible for targets relative to machine capability, supplier scrap, manufacturing scrap and the continuous improvement of such. ·Provides effective customer service that is timely and accurate. · Works with needs of a changing organization to maximize flexibility within the organization. · Possesses creativity and brings out creativity in others. · Seeks out opportunity for improvements. · Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies. · Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies. · Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
