- Position Description:
Responsible for the review, analysis, coordination, communication, and administration of CHMCA’s local and group purchasing organization (GPO) contracts. Maintains contract documentation and tracks hospital compliance with committed contracts. Provides cost analyses to the requestors regarding product impact on departmental budgets. Provides support for product and equipment recalls in accordance with Supply Chain Management and hospital protocol, and assists in resolving product backorder issues. Identifies product quality, process improvement and cost reduction opportunities through regular interaction with vendor sales representatives, GPO support personnel, CHMCA hospital staff, and other clinical and non-clinical resources outside CHMCA. Conducts product evaluations, facilitates product conversions and provides product information, education and support to Supply Chain Management personnel and CHMCA staff. Member of CHMCA’s value analysis committee.
High school diploma and a minimum of seven (7) years experience OR Associates degree and a minimum of five (5) years experience or Bachelors degree and a minimum of three (3) years experience required. Experience in a healthcare supply chain environment required. Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience in the use of business analytics and / or database query software helpful. Knowledgeable of hospital products and vendors. General understanding of hospital reimbursement. Previous experience using a hospital ERP / MMIS (Enterprise Resource Planning / Materials Management Information Systems) software helpful. Must be able to work closely with the Supply Chain Management Team as well as work independently. Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills required.
