The purpose of the jcpenney Supply Chain Trainee program is to develop and train the next generation of jcpenney’s Supply Chain leaders. With a focus on innovation, efficiency and safety, the Supply Chain Trainee program provides a unique opportunity for highly talented individuals to take their leadership skills to the next level.
The Lowdown – Real Experience
This comprehensive 16-week program takes place in one of our Supply Chain facilities and offers broad exposure to jcpenney, operational training, job shadowing and much more! Trainees also gain the knowledge they need to lead an hourly team and influence the entire jcpenney Supply Chain network to do the fast-paced work required to run our Supply Chain facilities as efficiently, safely and productively as possible.
Your Role – What to Expect
During this 4-month training program, you’ll shadow Field Supply Chain Supervisors while learning the state-of-the-art operations that make jcpenney an industry leader. Supply Chain Management Trainees will be mentored and coached by Sr. Level Management throughout this curriculum which includes project management, leadership skills and Lean training!
Training locations include: Alliance, TX; Atlanta, GA; Buena Park, CA; Columbus, OH; Lenexa, KS; Manchester, CT; and Reno, NV.
Qualifications – Making the Cut
To be considered, students must have completed their senior year by May 2012 and have a 4-year degree with a preferred 3.0 GPA in Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration (Other Majors Considered). Skills should include outstanding leadership and communication, the ability to motivate a team, and strong analytical and problem solving abilities. It is preferred that students have Lean / Six Sigma coursework or certification and a willingness and availability to relocate.
Opportunities – Your Big Break
Upon successful completion of the Supply Chain Management Trainee program, you will have led an hourly team and influenced daily center operations to help drive processes that will ensure the optimization of the jcpenney Supply Chain network. You may be promoted to a Supply Chain Supervisor position in a jcpenney Supply Chain facility. Future career progression opportunities include Operations, Transportation, Enterprise/Supplier Support and Engineering. Our Supply Chain facilities are nationwide, so relocation is a probability. And yes, we do offer a relocation allowance!
