Wisconsin Donor Network (WDN) is the federally designated organ procurement organization supporting the transplant community in eastern Wisconsin. WDN serves 2.2 million people in a 12-county region, including Door, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties. WDN is also affiliated with the 45 acute-care hospitals in eastern Wisconsin, the transplant programs at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and St. Luke’s Medical Center, as well as the Wisconsin Lion’s Eye Bank and the Wisconsin Tissue Bank. In addition to recovering organs for transplant, WDN also provides public and professional education about the tremendous need for organ and tissue donors. It is the region’s primary, most current source of information regarding organ and tissue donation.
Under the direction of the manager, this position has the responsibility to coordinate, assist, and perform many of the key aspects of organ donation as they relate to the surgical recovery of organs and tissues used for transplantation and/or research purposes. This includes serving as the primary contact person for OR during donor cases and independently recovering organs for research/medical education. Duties also include organ preservation, and packaging and distribution. We will depend on you to provide staff education and development to the 45 hospital groups serviced by WDN, all ICU, and OR staff. We will depend on you to use your exceptional skills to care for donors and their families with the highest respect.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of operating room experience as a Surgical Technician, Surgical Assistant, or similar position. This position requires flexibility and dedication for handling a demanding, irregular schedule and stressful situations.
