Survey Technician II/III
Hiring Salary Range: $17.02- $26.26 hourly.

Denver Water's Engineering Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Survey Technician II/III position within our Survey Section. Under general supervision, performs technical survey work in the field. Takes measurements or checks same according to plans for a variety of municipal land and water projects; makes responsible mathematical calculations. Assists in the establishment of lines, grades, boundaries, and horizontal and vertical control points; takes cross sections before and after excavation, and locates underground interference for design engineers.
The successful candidate will also be able to perform the following duties:
Set up and operate GPS receivers, total stations, and levels in performing
topographic, property and other surveys; checks boundary lines, grades and bench marks
according to construction documents, deeds and other records.
Qualifications for appointment:
Considerable knowledge of surveying methods and use of equipment. Knowledge of
trigonometry and map reading. Ability to upload and download GPS and total station data. Ability to make surveying calculations. Ability to carry heavy loads over long distances. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Graduation from high school, supplemented with one years' technical courses related to surveying, mapping and/or computerized drafting.
Four years' experience in surveying and /or computerized drafting.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that includes three years of survey experience.
License, Certificate or Credential:
Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R' Colorado driver's license, and have a satisfactory driving record on the date of appointment.
Must be willing to lift, and carry over long distances, materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work in remote areas for long periods of time.
