DESCRIPTION

If you have experience as a System Administrator, we may have a job for you! We are currently seeking qualified individuals for a FULL-TIME System Administrator position, located in North Austin. Pay Range: $25-$38/hr, depending on experienceSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8-5. Potential for Saturday and overtime hours. Must be willing to carry an on-call pager one week out of every six weeks and respond to calls as necessary regardless of day or time.THE ROLEThe System Administrator plans, engineers and supports host systems administration while providing ongoing technical support to all CU members and employees.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication Provides third level Help Desk support in resolving technology problems for employees while ensuring an accurate and timely response for problem resolution Assists with technology deployments such as desktop PCs, MS Office products, operating systems, helpdesk, UltraData products, installation of hardware and peripheral components and network upgradesSupports all facets of Active Directory including GPOs, user objects, groups, OUs, etc.Manages projects and provides support for additional hardware/software upgrades and feature enhancements Participates as a member of the Information Technology Disaster Recovery Team as described in the Information Technology Contingency Plan Maintains credit union disaster recovery site and performs ongoing verification testing Manages corporate antivirus program Conducts reviews and updates of standard operating procedures, disaster recovery procedures and all department documentation under the direction of the supervisor Maintains current knowledge of technology industry trends and direction and provides input to department staff on process improvements Conducts appropriate research, analysis and implementation of enhancements to the credit union's host systems and provides recommendations for new opportunities to improve service through technology Assists in the development and implementation of projects as assigned by supervisor Develops and maintains effective relationships with vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with four years financial institution systems support and/or administration or related experience and/or training; or high school diploma and six years' experience in information technology may substitute for higher education; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience administering Windows Server 2003 and 2008 with knowledge of group policy development and implementation and administering and deploying systems in a virtual environment. Experience in help desk environment and Avaya phone system administration a plus.Software & Equipment Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of host application systems including Ultradata and XP System products and Imaging and Automated Teller Machine Systems. The system administrator must have well-rounded knowledge of Information Systems Hardware, Software, Connectivity, and Data Base Management. Preferences include but are not limited to WAN, LAN, SAN, Blade Servers, VMware, Backup Exec, Intel & RISC-based architecture, AIX operating system, Microsoft Windows Server & Workstation, SQL and SQL Server, MS Office applications, Internet architecture and protocols, point-to-point communications, phone switches, phone configuration, routers, hubs, switches, and modems. Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMCITP, VCP4 or VCP5, CCNA or other Cisco or Security certifications are desirable.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust be bondable by a credit union. Must be willing to carry and respond to a pager during on-call rotation.Must be able to work flexible hours as needed and have reliable transportation to allow travel between branches (mileage reimburseable). Must be able to read and respond to user requests submitted via email or helpdesk system, as well as listen to and respond to requests via telephone or in-person conversation.Experience with Ultradata is highly preferred.Must exhibit a high level of customer care and support.
