The candidate will be responsible for developing techniques for accurately and rapldly measuring color and flux from high-brightness LEDs. Various test and measurement equipment will be integrated using Labview or equivalent programming. Test equiment may include devices such as a SMU, high-power laser, spectrophotometer, and stepper-motor driven stage. Integration may include design and fabrication of simple electronic circuits, development of test algorithms in Labview and/or Matlab, and optimization of the test procedure. The candidate will then be responsible for data collection and analysis from a variety of LEDs. Candidate will also participate in the design of a prototype manufacturing tool.
Candidate should have a PhD, or MS/BS with research experience, in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related field. Training should include geometric optics, optics bench design, and laser optics. Experience with data acquisition and analysis software such as Labview (preferred) or MATLAB is required; C programming is a plus. The candidate should have courses or experience with semiconductor design and processing. Laboratory experience should include optical bench setup, lasers, oscilloscopes, and other benchtop test and measurement equipment.
