The District is seeking highly qualified candidates for the essential position of Systems/Database Administrator. This at will, exempt level position will report directly to the Information Technology Supervisor and provides administration of and support for the District’s Enterprise Resource Planning and Utility Billing systems. This position will ensure that these systems as well as Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Enterprise Asset Management, and other database driven applications are integrated effectively to increase work efficiency.
Candidates should be able to manage competing priorities, solve problems, and be a team player; while supporting the District’s computer and network security, policies, and procedures. This position may be required to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Acts as a District liaison with third party software vendors for multiple mission critical financial systems. This includes planning and coordinating software upgrades or programming changes, trouble shooting, identifying and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues, and implementing system changes.
· Applies business analysis principles to create custom reports from multiple databases. Consolidates and analyzes data for management reporting. Reconciles report discrepancies.
· Provides assistance and support to end-users with system set-up, design, account administration, and configuration. Administers, monitors, and troubleshoots the District’s hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Provides Windows systems administration duties including user management and support, hardware configuration, system status checks, upgrades, and network support.
· Provides technical assistance and support to end-users for issues related to computers, software and peripherals.
Education equivalent to graduation from high school. Associate’s degree in Business with emphasis in information systems, computer science, or related field, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification and Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) certifications are desirable.
Minimum of three years experience in database administration and support, including knowledge of database tools, reporting and troubleshooting. Must have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Crystal Reports. Basic knowledge of networking technologies, Windows Active Directory and Windows operating systems. Strong technical, administrative, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) system design and configuration. Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management and Utility Billing systems is desirable.
