Position Description:

Position is contingent upon award of contract.

Interested candidates must currently hold a TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly in order to be considered.

The System Administrator is expected to provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems; manage an IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems; support the assigned IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

They provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems; support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers; provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. They configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

The successfully candidate will be expected to performs IT support activities associated with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems; possess an solid understanding of the PC hardware, operating systems and layered products, specialized and vendor software, and demonstrate an aptitude and willingness to keep technical skills current by learning new languages, operating systems, hardware, tools, security, and technology as they evolve. They will lead the installation and set-up of support software such as network or database products, application software, and security software installation and configuration; verify the proper installation and integrity of software products; respond to and resolve problems; generates/updates project documents. Additionally they will perform support software product evaluation. As a team leader the System Administrator is expected to plan and organize projects, direct multiple projects through the different phases, and manage project resources.
The Systems Administrator is expected to have specialized in: Networks and Telecommunications (LAN/WAN administration, Intra-computer communications, Network design and support); System Management and Administration (installing and maintaining vendor supplied operating systems, systems software, and layered products such as VMS, UNIX, Windows, code compilers); and Software System Engineering (applying broad knowledge and software engineering concepts to integrated software systems).

System Administrator will support efforts to evaluate and design systems to structure and access databases; analyzes database requirements; submit recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data back-up/recovery specifications; propose detailed specifications and flowcharts and coordinate installation of revised or new systems.

Key areas of specialization are: - Networks and Telecommunications: LAN/WAN administration, Intra-computer communications, Network design and support. - System Management and Administration: Install and maintain vendor supplied operating systems, systems software, and layered products (such as VMS, UNIX, Windows, code compilers). - Software System Engineering: Apply broad knowledge and software engineering concepts to integrated software systems. - Database Analyst: Evaluates and designs systems to structure and access databases, analyzes database requirements, and submits recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data back-up/recovery specifications. Proposes detailed specifications and flowcharts and coordinates installation of revised or new systems.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Information Technician Specialist 3:

BA/BS in related field or Computer Network Engineering Certification, and 4 years of progress ive, related experience . In lieu of formal education, 12 years of progressive, related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

Information Technician Specialist 4:

BA/BS in related field or Computer Network Engineering Certification, and 8 years of progressive related experience, In lieu of formal education, 16 years of progressive, related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
