Reporting to the Chief Grants Administrator, the Web-based Application Administrator in the division of Grants Administration performs advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis work and database administration of the Grants and Federal Fiscal Compliance's implementation of the eGrants (on-line application and expenditure reporting system) and TeamMate (auditing/monitoring documentation management system) web-based applications. Work involves planning and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing and improve existing systems. Implements operation, configuration, and maintenance of standard and custom applications, participates in change management process, configures, monitors, and tests system configuration changes, monitors and analyzse environment capacity, performance and sustainability of systems, and coordinates problem resolution with external vendors and internal departments in a timely manner. Works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years experience with systems analysis or database administration work. Experience with web-based applications strongly preferred. Experience with TEA's eGrants system or TeamMate preferred.

Substitution: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Travel: 1%

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

Knowledge of: Or ability to quickly learn TEA eGrants and TeamMate web-based applications; enterprise database setup, configuration and administration; fully hosted applications; and database administration such as Oracle, SQL, or SAS.

Skill in: Troubleshooting and analytics; using network and application monitoring, diagnostics and troubleshooting tools; coordinating across TEA divisions; and keeping supervisor and department leadership fully updated on status and progress of projects.

Ability to: Analyze systems and procedures; write and revise standards and procedures; manage and oversee multiple projects at once; communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff; and be able to self motivate to study and learn new responsibilities with limited supervision and direction from supervisor.

Salary is dependent on qualifications.

Positions exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will earn compensatory time off rather than overtime for hours in excess of 40 per week. May be required to work hours other than 8 to 5. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
