Job Purpose:
Provide technical consultation & support to program management In the development and management of service based enterprise architecture. Provide technical oversight of enterprise efforts throughout the project life cycle to ensure that IT standards and strategic direction are upheld. Ensure that the appropriate technical methodologies, frameworks and approaches are utilized to address program objectives and requirements.

The technical architect is responsible for the overall architecture integrity and maintaining the vision of the solution from an architectural perspective. The architect also ensures that leveraged opportunities are identified, and is a liaison between the functional groups to ensure that these opportunities are realized. The architect provides and maintains the business/technical solution models as a framework for understanding the scope of development work, guiding what should be done within the organization.

Duties:
Directs and participates in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development.

Provides technical and analytical guidance to enterprise services program team, serving as technical liaison between program management and development stakeholders.

Advises the team on key architectural decisions required of the enterprise technical platform and supporting technologies.

Evaluates projects from a technical perspective, ensuring that planned development methodologies are appropriate and in line to support enterprise goals.

Partners with leaders to provide enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with evolving business requirements.

Contributes to technical requirements & input to work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

Ensures adherence to quality standards and technical reviews for enterprise architecture deliverables.

Works to align enterprise IT strategy with business goals and objectives.

Promotes common infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows, ensuring that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies.

Actively supports IT governance as it relates to alignment to the business, evaluation of technology trends, enterprise architecture models, alignment of IT strategy initiatives, enterprise architecture guiding principles and standards.

Analyzes technology industry and market trends to determine potential impact to enterprise services.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field

8+ years of progressive IT experience; or equivalent training/experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or other advanced degree in computer science or related engineering/design field

5 + years of software and/or systems design experience

2 + years of Service Oriented Architecture experience

Expertise in designing and implementing highly scalable and fault tolerant systems.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of IT governance and operations.

Broad knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.

Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that nontechnical people may understand.

Knowledge of multiple SDLC methodologies.

Knowledge of business process analysis

Skills:
Proficiency in business/technology solution modeling: experience with the techniques that go into producing designs of complex IT systems, including requirements elicitation and analysis, formulation of solution context, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and design configuration.

Technical depth & breadth in multiple disciplines- candidate should possess an extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry. This breadth should be in areas of application development and deployment, and in the areas of creation and maintenance of the infrastructure to support the complex application environment.

Full Project Scope Experience- experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write or contribute to reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Ability to draw valid technical conclusions from a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and make recommendations for change.

Ability to interpret technical challenges while dealing with abstract and concrete variables.

Clear and concise communication expertise both at the executive level and across the project team.

Ability to direct a team effectively and to collaborate successful with others on cross-cutting projects.

Strong interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.

Ability to establish plans and milestone while regularly communicating status to both the client and internal management.
