Position Description

We are seeking a Windows Systems Engineer that will design, develop, implement, and maintain the transition to Windows 7 and other Microsoft applications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements
  • Plan and facilitate migration and conversation to Windows 7 enterprise environment
  • Design and produce a business case to transition Office 2010/2013
  • Design and implement MBAM, App-V and UE-V solutions and training
  • Transition from MacAfee Antivirus to Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection, including requirements and design, as well as execute a pilot and FISMA scan/review
  • Integrate and troubleshoot desktop configurations
  • Review test plans/procedures and ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements; participate in the testing process to validate requirements
  • Determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Participate in and deliver updates on system requirements specifications, system design documents, and critical design review briefings
  • Provide Tier IV support once systems are implemented

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of US Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB), Defense Intelligence Systems Agency Security and Technical Implementation Guidelines, NSA Information Assurance Doctrines and FIPS publications, Section 508 mandates, etc.
  • Understanding of Microsoft System Center 2012 suite, most specifically Configuration Manager, and including Virtual Machine Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager and Orchestrator
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008 Administration and Active Directory 2003/2008 Administration

  • Preferred:
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Desktop 7
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Windows Desktop 7
    • MOS: Microsoft Office Specialist certification
