The successful candidate shall support the task lead in the analysis of the SLS vehicle design and supporting infrastructure regarding the adequacy of its implementation of operations requirements with respect to the following:
Flight Operations Handbook (FOH): Includes vehicle system command and control analysis, vehicle system overviews and functional descriptions, and the development of Operations Sequence Diagrams relative to launch countdown and ascent.
Development of Launch Commit Criteria for the Integrated Vehicle.
Support the development of timelines defining vehicle and ground infrastructure events correlated to the countdown, ascent, and on – orbit mission phases.
Analysis of Sub System Design Description Documents and input to the Supportability and Operations Assessment Report.
SLS Failure Mode assessment and operations response planning.
Launch Operations and Mission Operations support planning for the SLS during countdown, ascent, and on-orbit phases.
Participate in design reviews as required
The review of SLS documentation affecting mission operations
Other duties as assigned
Candidate must be able to work in a NASA structured team environment and is required to attend weekly coordination meetings with the NASA customer, Teledyne Brown Engineering and other contractor personnel.
Candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree in a recognized field of engineering or science, plus approximately three (3) or more years of professional experience performing analysis, design and/or test assignments.
Experience with fault detection and isolation and/or risk analysis a plus but not required.
Candidate must be able to:
- Present and defend analysis and designs, with the support of the Task Lead, in customer lead meetings
