Entry Level Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineering position for the Space Explorations Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program in Huntsville, Alabama. Boeing Space Exploration is a leading provider of human space flight and space exploration systems and services. Since the dawn of the Space Age, Boeing has designed, developed, built and operated human and robotic space vehicles as well as supporting hardware. As a member of the Space Exploration team the R&M engineer will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions; perform various analyses to optimize reliability, maintainability availability, reliability predictions, Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (FMEA) reports to ensure mission success. Level R&M Engineer will work closely with experienced R&M personnel and cross-functional organizations to develop, verify and validate system reliability requirements.

Typical responsibilities will be to provide inputs and assist in performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis/Critical Item List, maintainability analyses, reliability and maintainability allocations/predictions, and component analysis, fault prediction/detection/isolation analysis, to assess design characteristics, submitted to NASA. The R&M engineer researches and provides source data to assist in the development of reliability, maintainability, data item descriptions and specifications, for inclusion into procurement packages submitted.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.
