CARE is seeking an experience Technical Advisor (TA) to monitor nutrition programming for ongoing quality improvement, measure the impact of integrated nutrition programming, and document the most effective program approaches. The TA will apply these skills primarily in a new privately-funded integrated nutrition program (“Nutrition at the Center”) designed to improve maternal and child nutrition outcomes. The TA will be the focal point on the Nutrition Plus team for collaboration with one country office participating in this integrated nutrition program. S/he will contribute across all phases of the program cycle including development, implementation, evaluation, and analyzing, presenting and publishing program outcomes. In addition to her/his role in the integrated nutrition program, the TA will also contribute to strengthening monitoring and evaluation of other programs in which the Nutrition Plus team collaborates and supporting proposal development and other program logistical issues when necessary.

  • Oversight/technical support for M & E for the integrated intervention
  • Guidance and support to NAC country offices
  • Support the M & E of capacity building efforts
  • Additional logistical team support as needed

  • Masters degree in public health or nutrition (or other relevant health specialization) with training/experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • 2 - 5 years experience working in health or nutrition programming
  • Familiar with community-based approaches for nutrition program design and implementation
  • Strong knowledge and experience in program monitoring and quality improvement and measurement and evaluation
  • Excellent team work and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail orientation
  • Demonstrated understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Demonstrated experience with the complete project cycle from assessment through evaluation, with particular emphasis on M & E
  • Ability to operationalize programmatic strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with government, donors, ministry officials, community leaders, and other development partners
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and data processing

  • M & E experience particularly related to maternal and child nutrition and integrated programming
  • Working with IYCF, nutrition and/or food & nutrition security
  • Overseas experience
  • Language: French or Spanish desired
  • Background in IYCF, Maternal Nutrition or Nutrition, Food & Nutrition Security
