Information Technology & Computing Services - Academic Computing is seeking a web application consultant. The position will offer technical expertise in the daily technical support of campus-wide web applications such as CommonSpot, SharePoint, Tech Excel, WordPress, and other university tools as they are added. This position will also offer advanced level support for CommonSpot. In addition to daily application support, development of web sites, pages, and forms using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ColdFusion are necessary. As new technologies emerge and needs for projects change, the selected candidate will need to be flexible and learn new tools and methods.

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and ColdFusion is required. Skills should include the ability to work with a variety of databases for form data collection. An understanding of web accessibility requirements is important. Additionally, knowledge of Windows server for setting directory permissions would be beneficial. Candidate should possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage current and concurrent tasks. It is critical that the candidate possess effective oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.

The selected candidate will be expected to provide consulting and training on all aspects of support products to faculty, staff, and students, which will include teaching workshops, one-on-one consulting, and documentation in both written and web format as necessary. Understanding of multi-media, social media, mobile and emerging technology, as well as the application of these tools in education is desired.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electronics, telecommunications, engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 74 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
