The telephone operator provides basic telephone service for the hospital switchboard. Answers and directs calls, re-routing as appropriate, to ensure connections. Furnishes accurate information regarding patient location, visiting hours and organizational information.

Provides assistance and guidance to customers in need of general information.

Responds immediately to all emergencies and alarms; utilizes overhead paging system for specific need.

Operates a data linked multiposition PBX console automated system
