The Senior Database Security Analyst is part of the IT Risk & Security function and is responsible for providing analysis, design, implementation and monitoring of all database security controls. The position develops and manages data security practices across the enterprise including training, awareness campaigns, self-audits and self-assessments. The position also identifies data security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations, and suggests procedures or process changes to halt future Incidents.
List of Responsibilities
Provide database entitlement consulting services to various IT stakeholders across the enterprise by staying abreast of existing and proposed security standard setting groups, as well as State and Federal legislation and regulations regarding security.
Responsible for interpretation, implementation, maintenance and effective use of IT standards, procedures and guidelines as related to Enterprise Data Management. Develops and documents data security and compliance standards.
Designs, implements and performs self-audits, evaluations, and reviews of standards and processes, including identifying strengths and weaknesses of existing processes, ensuring adherence to policies and standards and minimizing the risk to database management systems.
5+ years work experience in IT, preferably with databases management systems.
At least 3 years experience in database security or Information Systems Risk Management.
4+ years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry.
Broad operational, service and technical knowledge in multiple Information Technology disciplines.
Professional security certification; such as CISA, GSE, SANS, SOX or CISSP Certifications preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
Experience in applying or evaluating security controls for Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2 & UDB, and MongoDB leveraging tools such IBM Guardium, Qualys, CyberArk or similar products.
Ability to negotiate and influence results without direct authority, understanding of the Internal Audit process and able to work with all other groups to ensure quality service delivery to customers.
ADP or equivalent certification preferred, or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. US citizenship is a requirement for certification.
