DESCRIPTION

Summary

Responsible for monitoring all games and dealers in an assigned area, protecting casino assets and providing excellent customer service. Maintain ongoing inspection of cards or dice ensuring the security and integrity of the assigned table(s). As both a supervisor and a dealer, responsible for ensuring compliance with Table Games/Poker Room departmental policies and procedures, as well as applicable gaming and Title 31 regulations. Responsible for performing all dealing services at assigned table(s). Exchange guest currency for gaming chips. Maintain outstanding level of guest service.

DUTIES

Duties and Responsibilities - Supervisory

  • Applies positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers (internal and external) at all times.
  • Supervises dealers in assigned section.
  • Exchanges cash for gaming chips in accordance with procedure.
  • Administers the operation of table games in an assigned area.
  • Ensures compliance with Gaming Commission regulations and internal controls, as well as departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures proper procedures are adhered to by all dealers in assigned section.
  • Completes special assignments for the Table Games Manager as required.
  • Rates all gaming table transactions in the assigned area.
  • Maintains accountability for all games in assigned section. Keeps accurate records of rated play and win/loss for all games in assigned section.
  • Assist with the operation of table games promotions as assigned by the Table Games Manager or Table Games Shift Manager.
  • Maintains excellent grooming and personal conduct according to Soboba Casino Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities - Dealer

  • Applies positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.
  • Operates and conducts table games including but not limited to blackjack, roulette, craps, Three Card poker, Texas Hold'em, Omaha.
  • Ensures compliance with approved policies and procedures and all gaming regulations/internal controls.
  • Ensures the integrity and game protection of each game dealt in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Exchanges cash for gaming chips in accordance with procedure.
  • Maintains excellent grooming and personal conduct according to Soboba Casino Standards.
Performance Standards
  • Act as a team member to the department and to each other, as a support system, cooperating on department and company projects and assignments, including conducting best practices for working with each other, the department and the company.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, including maintaining an orderly and neat work area and worksite, as well as organized work activities, with the highest levels of productivity in performing daily job tasks within the scheduled work day.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism in the workplace, including standards for appropriate dress and appearance, respect for each team member, satisfactory attendance, open communication, job knowledge, a desire to succeed, and in all activities where you represent the Table Games Department through trust, productivity, confidentiality, and the highest levels of customer service.
  • Act as a department champion, promoting the department's and company services and functions to other employees, other departments, vendors, applicants and others who visit the department and property.
  • Be responsive, accountable and provide feedback to management inquiries for information, clarification, suggestions or observations regarding operational, staffing, mentoring, customer service, personal development and productivity.
  • Serve as a team member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, following the code of conduct, displaying the highest level of ethics and integrity in action, thoughts and conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS

Certificates, licenses and registration:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to deal all games within the table games and poker departments proficiently and be able to satisfactorily pass a dealing audition. Games include but are not limited to Roulette, blackjack, Pai Gow, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Three Card Poker, Mississippi Stud, Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud.

Education/Experience:
  • Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in both table games and poker is required.
  • Previous Table Games/Poker supervisory experience preferred.
  • Without previous table games/poker supervisory experience, at least four years dealing experience required.
Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
  • There is exposure to second hand smoke.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to deal cards and make chip transactions requires hand and finger dexterity.
  • Ability to perform cash transactions in a dimly lit environment requires visual acuity.
