s taxable fixed income investment philosophy is based on the belief that the increasing complexity of fixed-income markets mandates a team-based, sector-specialist approach, and that portfolios must be constructed with diversified sources of risk and return due to the asymmetrical nature of fixed-income returns. Our investment team is organized into sector teams with the depth of expertise necessary for today’s complex fixed-income markets.
We are seeking to add a junior analyst to the taxable fixed income team, based in Minneapolis. The position supports the team through portfolio and market reporting, maintenance of portfolio management systems, and quantitative projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
•Work with lead quantitative analyst to learn analytical processes and systems.
•Assist with production of portfolio analytical reports and models for the taxable fixed income team. Includes database and spreadsheet-based risk, position, and attribution reports which integrate data from Yield Book, Bloomberg, and internal portfolio accounting systems.
•Daily/weekly report generation & distribution for portfolio managers and traders.
•Complete consultant/client portfolio questionaires.
•Build/populate historical portfolio position databases/studies.
•Interact with product and marketing groups to support external data inquiries and product information.
•Miscellaneous reporting and analytical projects within the fixed income group.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•BA/BS degree required; 0-1 year of corporate work experience; Previous internship experience preferred.
•Strong computer skills including Excel, Access and macros.
•Position responsibilities require working with multiple constituencies, including portfolio managers, traders, analysts, marketing, IT support, and investment operations.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills that will be utilized across both internal and external counterparties.
•Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
•Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
