As the Technology Cell Leader you are accountable for the functional, business, and broad company objectives of the turbine tooling section of the tool center. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
In addition, you will:
Act as the single point of contact to the customer for timely and satisfactory resolution of concerns covering a wide variety of support services offered for each of the assigned product lines
Be responsible for the daily operations, activities, financial and technical management of the turbine tooling section of the Tool Center
Direct and manage the work of assigned employees to ensure timely, efficient and cost effective order fulfillment, meeting all safety, quality and key performance metrics, including work assignments, scheduling overtime, and employee training in a non-union environment
Drive activities and complete projects with employees to maximize safety, quality and productivity consistent with the Fulfillment-5 principles
Enhance LEAN processes to reduce waste and cost, provide technical leadership, best practice exchange, and develop / drive tool retention programs
Work closely with internal customers (Field Engineers and Service Managers) to coordinate tooling required and schedule for outages
Manage the turbine tooling section of the tool center to achieve kit availability, turn-around times, quality measures and operating plan targets
Be responsible for building strong long-term relationships with specific customers within the region
Have front line leadership responsibility for approximately 1 - 9 direct reports
Supervise and evaluate employee performance, including coaching and mentoring
Perform annual reviews of employees' evaluation, documentation, and communication
Maintain administration procedures / processes and complete all periodic or individual reports
Ensure that the tool center maintains effective health and safety standards as per company policies and government regulations
Exercise independent judgment and decision making over day-to-day operations of the turbine tooling section of the tool center
Ensure a continual high level of customer service
Additional responsibilities as needed to support Tool Center Manager
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a field services or customer service role)
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule as required

Experience working in a production or service environment
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Previous supervisory / leadership experience

Ability to plan, communicate, and execute
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Minimum of 5 years of business experience
Gas Turbine and/or Steam Turbine Product Line experience / knowledge
Field service experience
Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification (GE Employees only)
Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment
Mechanical aptitude for repair and evaluation of mechanical fixtures
