Job Description
Students who have successfully completed at least one summer appointment as a high school Student Research Apprenticeship Program (SRAP) intern and are a current freshman in either a community college or four-year university are eligible for the Advanced Student Research Apprenticeship Program (ASRAP).
The program provides a ten-week summer research experience that includes four days each week, working side-by-side with a scientist-mentor in a specific research area.
Each week, time will be devoted to educational, career, and leadership development activities involving laboratory demonstrations, field trips, team building, communications and career awareness workshops.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university.
Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.
All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must be a previous participant of high school SRAP.

Qualifications
  • Applicants who intend on pursuing a degree that aligns with the research conducted at PNNL.
  • Applicants who have strong academic recommendations.
  • Applicants who have reliable transportation to and from PNNL.
  • Applicants cannot have a job or extracurricular activities that will conflict with the appointment.
No vacations or plans that will necessitate an interruption/absence during the ten-week appointment are allowed.
