Job Description
The Secure Cyber Systems group seeks to hire dynamic individuals with strong interest in cyber analysis and research. Cyber security is one of the most challenging and exciting work environments in the Laboratory. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team focused on challenges that range from basic science to technology innovation. A successful candidate will have experience with one or more of the following: agent-oriented systems, industrial control systems, component security, reverse engineering, intrusion detection/prevention, and/or information analytics. The candidate will be part of the Secure Cyber Systems Group and will be accountable to the Group Manager. This Group is a part of the National Security Directorate and provides high quality research to the Department of Energy and other federal agencies. Candidates will contribute to interdisciplinary cyber security research and development that will benefit a variety of domains (e.g., critical infrastructure protection, network analysis, and supply chain management), including:
  • Contribute to technical documents including system documentation, academic papers, and presentations
  • Participate on small interdisciplinary teams of 1 - 3 technical staff
  • Develop software in Java, C, C++, C#, or Python
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university.

Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.

Applicants with experience in one or more of these areas, or closely related topics, are encouraged to apply:
  • Experience with two or more programming languages (Java, C, C++, C#, Python) and have an interest to learn others.
  • Have knowledge of cyber security principles through coursework or experience
  • Have excellent presentation skills and have the ability to communicate with a wide range of research scientists and engineers.
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required for this position.
