DESCRIPTION

The candidate will participate in the processing and analysis of infant electroencephalographic data, auditory brainstem response data, and otoacoustic emission data in support of research on the effects of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, premature birth, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Additionally, the candidate will attend meetings as applicable to the projects that s/he is involved with and conduct relevant literature/background searches as necessary for data/study analysis.

  • This position is set to start around April, 2013.*
DUTIES

Prior experience in electroencephalography, audiometry, and infant development research and the knowledge of and ability to program in the MATLAB and LINNUX computer languages is desirable. Premedical coursework and experience in psychobiology lab preferred.

Assist with data collection and processing:
  • Track, process, and organize infant electroencephalographic data, auditory brainstem response data, and otoacoustic emission data with MATLAB and LINNUX based programs
  • Assist with data collection or analysis troubleshooting, namely modifying MATLAB scripts and creating LINNUX based programs.
  • Train research assistants with processing and analyzing infant EEG and ECG data.
QUALIFICATIONS

Requires coursework towards a Master's Degree with an emphasis on psychology, chemistry, biology, physics, or related science and at least 1 year of related experience or equivalent education.

  • Familiarity with processing electrocardiogram (ECG) and electroencephalogram (EEG) tracings
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and LINNUX and based programming highly preferred.
