Our client, a young, globally respected Property/Casualty, Reinsurance and Risk Management organization needs a Technology leader to serve as AVP, Shared Services .
Lead Shared Services (Functions) systems and applications.
Ownership of technology direction, solution delivery and support for global Shared Services departments (Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Legal, Human Resources, Audit, Marketing & Communications, Investment Management, Investor Relations, Procurement, and Real Estate and Facilities).
Set comprehensive technology direction and roadmaps
Participate in enterprise IT strategy in alignment with Business goals.
Manage/ lead the Functions development team.
Plan, control and oversee staffing of technical consultants, balance overall development costs.
Matrix manage Enterprise Solutions development staff including Enterprise Content Management and Business Intelligence.
Design and drive execution for all Function IT solutions, technology products.
Determine build versus buy.
Advise how to use technology to improve business efficiency.
Establish strong business relationships with key internal customers, other IT units and external vendors
Implement and manage a risk-based IT controls environment, including validation of compliance with audit, SOX and security policies.
Hands-on development background
Experience leading/ managing a full-service technology team.
Proven experience defining IT strategies and executing on them
Expert in managing a complex environment inclusive of packaged applications, custom solutions, integration technologies, SaaS, and cloud solutions.
Project Management methodology and implementation experience.
Global knowledge of languages, platforms, tools, with emphasis on Microsoft (.Net, C#, ASP.Net, SharePoint, MS SQL, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS) as well as Java/Unix.
Proven track record delivering corporate solutions for a diverse portfolio of products and client base.
REQUIRED: Experience with Claims Systems, Investment Management systems (e.g.Lawson, Genius, ImageRight, ProCede. or comparable) -
Oracle KBACE Mentor and SharePoint - desirable.
Deliver multi-year IT projects, on time and within budget.
Current knowledge of IT and industry (business) trends which may impact Functions departments.
Outsourcing Experience with offshore resources
Awareness of the latest industry relevant ERP technology products.
Able to delve into business details and remain big picture focused.
Strong problem solving, planning and budgeting skills.
Solid financial acumen, able to construct sound business plans and effectively evaluate profitability and risk potential
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
Strong change management experience
