We are currently looking for someone with a strong technical background to join our Product Management team. As Product Manager you will be responsible for Couchbase Server database operations, indexing and querying and document database capabilities. The successful candidate will have a very good understanding of database technology, distributed systems and scaling applications, with prior experience in product management.

Define the requirements for new features and enhancements for Couchbase Server for database features like indexing and querying, data types, database operations, database security and more.

Extensively work with the engineering teams to prioritize and drive feature specification and design from concept to general availability

Engage with customers to understand their evolving requirements, influence and develop the product roadmap and identify high-value integrations with the broader database ecosystem

Work both internally with functional groups (engineering, marketing, support, sales, etc.) as well as externally with customers and partners to drive feature priorities, release content and customer engagement

Contribute to internal and external product-related content like sales and sales engineering training, feature blogs and Couchbase events like conferences and webinars and assist in driving customer and community adoption of the product

Requires 5-7 years of experience in the information management industry with 2-3 years highly-focused technical product management experience in a fast-paced technology company

Domain expert in databases is a must with deep knowledge of the database landscape. Understanding of NoSQL and Big Data is a plus

Track record of exceptional performance and a collaborative team player

Experience in enterprise software across a range of functional roles including: development, product management, and/or technical support; experience with user interfaces is a plus

Critical thinker with a strong bias towards action, able to go deep into technology and relate technical enhancements to customer use cases

Superior presentation skills. As the evangelist for the product line, you will be tasked with presenting your product to customers and at events, both internal and external.

Clear, crisp communicator with strong written and oral communication skills. You will be working with all areas of the company as well as customers. You have the ability to communicate both business and technical topics to diverse audiences.

Experience in a start-up environment a strong plus

BS or MS degree in Computer Science
