Coucbase is looking for a strong technical addition to our Product Management team. As the Product Manager you will be responsible for the Couchbase Server user interface, primary APIs as well as database tools. The successful candidate will also have a very good understanding of database technology, distributed systems and scaling applications, with prior experience in product management.

Define the requirements for new features and enhancements for Couchbase Server in areas such as the user interface, programing APIs, management and monitoring APIs, command line interfaces and database tools

Extensively work with the engineering teams to prioritize and drive feature specification and design from concept to general availability

Engage with customers to understand their evolving requirements, influence and develop the product roadmap and identify high-value integrations with the broader database ecosystem

Work both internally with functional groups (engineering, marketing, support, sales, etc.) as well as externally with customers and partners to drive feature priorities, release content and customer engagement

Contribute to internal and external product-related content like sales and sales engineering training, feature blogs and Couchbase events like conferences and webinars and assist in driving customer and community adoption of the product

Requires 5-7 years of experience in the information management industry with 2-3 years highly-focused technical product management experience in a fast-paced technology company

Domain expert in databases is a must

Track record of exceptional performance and a collaborative team player

Experience in enterprise software across a range of functional roles including: development, product management, and/or technical support; experience with user interfaces is a plus

Critical thinker with a strong bias towards action, able to go deep into technology and relate technical enhancements to customer use cases

Understanding of NoSQL databases is a plus

Clear, crisp communicator, both in writing and verbally

Experience in a start-up environment a strong plus

BS or MS degree in Computer Science
