A business development professional with experience selling or recommending IT product solutions to clients. This person is a multi-tasker, with high energy, and excels in a fast-paced, dynamic call center environment. The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) will work directly with the account executives and sales management team to effectively penetrate and drive solutions within targeted accounts. The successful TSS will be a solution provider, enhancing the engagement with customers and prospects in new business opportunities. They will define and implement sales strategies to outperform quota assignments, while delivering new sources of revenue to the business unit. He/she will develop and work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope, and exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
Identify, recommend, develop and help close IT product solution opportunities with account executives and customers.
Partner with sales management and account executives to implement sales strategies that will exceed revenue and gross profit targets.
Work closely with vendor partners to help develop solutions and win business.
Develop business relationships with target account decision-makers and make joint customer calls with account executives. Meet weekly with sales management on execution of business plans.
Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline management and forecasting.
Consistently review the assigned account base to look for new revenue opportunities and make necessary recommendations that will result in increased account activity.
Enhance technical expertise on a regular basis by participating in solution training.
Must have 2 or more years experience in a business development/sales role or in a pre-sales support role recommending IT product solutions to clients, preferably selling or recommending networking/data security product solutions.
Account planning skills with experience in up-sell and cross-sell strategies.
Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate the value proposition to the customer.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
Proven experience managing projects and delivering expectations, both internally and with clients.
Proven success at working collaboratively with sales and internal colleagues to solve technical problems
Solid understanding of technologies, partners and solutions in the networking/data security environment.
Working at a technology manufacturer/vendor is a plus.
Keen interest in keeping abreast with new and advanced technologies.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
