What are the work hours? This is a full-time contractor position – for now at least. Our office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm, M-F. Flex time available.

What’s the gig? We are seeking a Technical Training Specialist/Instructional Designer to create assessment, training, documentation, methodology and framework for IT training. The goal will be consistency and efficiency across MMIC. Develops and maintains systems operation and user training documentation. Translates business specifications into user training curriculum. Designs learning tools: written, web-based and potential mobile device delivery. Determines instructional content strategies. Applies advanced learning theory and adult learning principles to improve effectiveness of learning content. Plans, writes, and maintains systems and user support documentation efforts. Conducts needs assessments and development of measurement instruments. Evaluates effectiveness of design solutions.

What creds do I need? Bachelors degree in Communications, Information Technology, instructional design, organizational development or related field preferred. Five or more years of experience in developing curriculum for training, analyzing, and measuring technical training programs/instructional design. Insurance industry experience a plus. Familiarity with conventions in form, structure, and notation of technical writing. Must be very detailed oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated by the ability to acquire, synthesize, and present highly technical information. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong time management and organizational skills. Functional knowledge in a wide range of technologies preferred. Excellent project management capabilities, strong conceptual abilities, and strong team orientation. Meet schedule commitments within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A positive, can-do attitude and ownership spirit with ability to have fun, while all the time meeting the needs of the business are necessary traits for this individual to be successful in this role.
