Parsons is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to develop world-class communications and deliverables. The Technical Writer/Editor performs the most difficult and/or complex writing and editing tasks required in the preparation of proposals, presentations, reports, technical papers, newsletters, web sites, multimedia resources, marketing collateral, and other materials.

Develops communications deliverables in accordance with
standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensures adherence to approved Parsons’ communication templates, formats, and corporate style guides.
Facilitates reviews and approvals of communications materials by subject experts, owners, senior leaders, and other stakeholders.
Ensures compliance of all assigned documents with their required presentation, correct use of paragraph headings and numbering, referencing of illustrative and tabular matter, and applicable bibliographic styles.
Consults with key content owners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to develop communications plans that identify and define intended audiences, specific content, level of technical detail required, appropriate and effective types of communications materials, required reviewers and approvers, and delivery schedules. Assists authors/requestors with cost and time estimates, production plans, delivery schedule compliance, and coordination with other technical publications units.
Assists in developing and implementing standard procedures.
Recommends process improvements, strategic alternatives, new technologies, and other methods and means to ensure the continued success of the team.
4-year degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism, or related field (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of related work experience, including at least 3-5 years of experience of proofreading and editing all facets of technical engineering publications, specifications, and proposals from rough draft through print-ready. Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Technical Suite (including RoboHelp), SharePoint, instructional video software (such as Camtasia Studio), and screenshot capture and editing tools (such as SnagIt). Familiarity with desktop publishing and graphic design. Experience with standard communications development including planning, working with subject experts, researching and gathering information, organizing materials and information, facilitating reviews and approvals, and performing required information and documentation management.
